Karnataka is one of the four southern states of India, which came in to existence in 1956. The word Karnataka is the combination of two kannada words "Karu" and "nadu" meaning elevated land. Karnataka's history dates back to Neolithic age. But it came to the limelight during the period of Mauryan Empire, ruled by Emperor Ahsoka Rock Edicts of Ashoka, written in Prakrit, were discovered in Chitradurga and Raichur. Karnataka was ruled by many dynasties like Kadambas, Gangas, Chalukyas, Rashtrakutas, Hoysalas, Vijayanagar Kings, Bahmani Sultans, Wodeyars and Haider Ali & Tipu Sultan. Later it was ruled by the British.
Karnataka is situated in the Deccan Plateau and is bordered by Arabian Sea to the west, Goa to the northwest, Maharastra to the North, Andhra Pradesh to the East, Tamil Nadu to the east and southeast and Kerala to the southwest. Bangalore is the capital of Karnataka and Kannada is the official language of the state. Karnataka is the largest producer of coffee and it is noted for its sandalwood products. 90% of the gold production in India comes from south Karnataka. Today Karnataka has become one of the most industrialized states in India. Bangalore is the IT hub of India. Karnataka gave the world the famous Carnatic Music. Karnataka is famous for its Heritage Sites, Temples, wildlife reserves etc.

Day 01:
Arrival at Bangalore Airport. Upon arrival meeting & assistance and transfer to Mysore for overnight stay. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 02: Mysore
After breakfast proceed for the local sight seeing of Mysore covering Srirangapatnam, Tipu's Summer Palace, Mysore Maharaja's Palace and chamundeeswari Amman Temple. Srirangapatnam lies 14 km north of Mysore, is famous for its 10th century Sriranganathaswamy Vishnu Temple and came in to the limelight during the period of Hyder Ali and Tipu Sultan during 18th century. Later visit Tipu's former summer palace known as "Daria Daulat Bagh", which literally means "wealth of the sea" and then visit Mysore Maharaja's Palace, which was designed by Henry Irwin and built between 1897 and 1912. This Indo-saracenic styled building is the famous landmark of Mysore. Later visit Chamundeeswari Amman Temple, which is 3 km southeast of the city and dedicated to Goddess Durga. This famous temple is situated on Chamundi Hill. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 03: Mysore
After breakfast proceed to Somnathpur to visit Kesava Temple. This star-shaped temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu was the last important temple constructed by Hoysalas. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 04: Mysore - Hassan
After breakfast proceed to Sravanabelagola to visit the 17 meter high monolithic statue of Gomateshvara which is cut into the rock of Indragiri hill. The statue of Gomateshvara can be reached by a flight of 620 steps. Mahamastakabhishekam Ceremony which held once in 12 years attracts thousands of people to this small town. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 05: Hassan
After breakfast Visit the temples at Belur and Halebid, which are renowned for their fine sculptures. Belur Chennakeshava Temple was constructed in 1117 by King Vishnuvardhana is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. He built this temple to celebrate his conversion from Jainism to vaishnavism by Saint Ramanujacharia and his victory over Cholas at Talakad war. Halebid Hoysaleshvara Temple was constructed by Hoysala kings during 12th century and dedicated to Lord Shiva. Both the temples are highly noted for art and architecture. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 06: Hassan - Hospet
After breakfast proceed to Hospet and upon arrival transfer to hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 07: Hospet - Hampi - Hospet
After breakfast proceed to Hampi which is 13 km northeast to Hospet to explore the exceptional ruins at Hampi. The ruined city of vijayanagara, "the city of victory" (also known as Hampi, the name of a local village) spread over 26 square kilometers. The ruins of Vijayanagar are mostly concentrated in two distinct groups. The first one lies around Hampi Bazzar and the second one lies around the "Royal Enclosure". Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 08: Hospet - Badami
After breakfast drive across the Deccan Plateau to Badami which is dramatically sited in a gorge between two sandstone hills. In the afternoon visit South Fort famous for its 6th century cave temples carved in to the sandstone cliffs. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 09: Badami
After breakfast proceed to visit the remarkable temples at Aihole and Pattadakal. Aihole was the first Chalukyan capital and is regarded as the birthplace of Indian temple architecture. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 10: Badami - Goa
After breakfast proceed to Goa enjoying the beautiful drive over the Western Ghats. Upon arrival transfer to hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 11 & 12:
Free for your own activities. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 13:
After breakfast transfer to the airport to connect flight to your next destination.
